It was jointly sponsored by the University of Maryland and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

Attendance was very high, attracting interest from archival, records management, and information technology professionals and practitioners from around the world.

			The two day conference featured panel presentations on topics such the release of NARA's Electronic Records Archives System, Standards and Policies for Trusted Digital Repositories, Institutional Repositories: Lessons Learned, Partnerships in Research, Tools and Technologies, and DataNet: A Digital Preservation Network for the Future.
