December 12 PROPOSALS for talks, posters, demos, workshops and tutorials (submitted by faculty after talking to all their students)
Wed, March 6 TALK ABSTRACTS Due: All speakers provide a 1 page abstract about their topic (single spaced, single sided). HCIL Symposium Templates must be used and can be found HERE.
Wed, March 6 HCIL Faculty provide updates for List of Research Sponsors and [List of news and awards]
Fri, March 8, 12:00 PM Each poster/demo presenter send their POSTERS so we can print them. see TEMPLATES HERE.
Wed, March 13, 12:00PM If needed: organizers of Workshop/Tutorial materials send materials that need printing. After this date presenters are responsible for printing their own materials .
March 18-22 SPRING BREAK Campus closed 18-20
Wed, March 27 & Thurs, March 28 PRACTICE TALKS. ALL speakers come rehearse their talk. We will remind you to add your name to the schedule: HERE.
Friday, March 29, 10:00AM Initial Symposium Preparations. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We'll meet in 2105 Hornbake, South and go visit the site of the symposium. Sign-up to volunteer HERE.
Monday April 1st SWAG Items Due: Last day to provide materials to be included in Symposium bags (e.g. advertisement for your book, software or app)
Monday April 1st, 9:00AM Talk SLIDES Due. Note: because of the number of talks we try grouping slides on one or 2 computer only (per session) so slides are needed early so they can be saved on a shared drive. (more details).
Wed, April 3 Final Symposium Preparations - Preparing and moving the bags, badges and all our stuff to the venue. VOLUNTEERS needed - FREE PIZZA!! Sign-up to volunteer HERE.
Thurs, April 4 THE EVENT! This year taking place at the Marriott / UMUC. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Sign-up HERE. Usually followed by an celebration for all hcilers/volunteers!
