Sandbox Studio Reservation Request

To ensure we stay below the 4Maryland maximum occupancy limits set during Covid restrictions, please use this reservation system before coming to Sandbox.

Form Explanation

If you don't understand exactly how to use the form above, we will explain. First we need an email address to be able to contact you in case anything changes about your timing. If complications arise and there can be no Sandbox staff present, you would be unable to get inside Sandbox. We also need your UID to ensure that you are a UMD affiliate.

Other than that, the form is very simple. First you need to choose what room you will be using. The rooms and tools in each room can be found here. If you need to use any tools from another room, ask a manager or staff on site and they can assist you if no one else is currently using that room. Whichever room you will use the majority of your visit should be the one you choose.

Limited Space

Due to Covid, we have to limit how many people are in the space at once. Each of the rooms have a certain number of people allowed in the space at once. The signup sheet page for each room will tell you the max occupancy and if any people already signed up for every time slot. If you are in a room with more than one occupancy, please sit at a different workspace and distance from each other as much as possible.

Once a time slot has been fully filled, it will be removed from the pickable options and will be listed in the description as full.

Reserving More Slots

Currently, the limit for time slots is three 1 hour periods. If you need to have more time, please contact us at SandboxUMD@gmail.com for permission for however long you need to work in the space.

Form Updates

The form is automatically updated about every hour to remove the old times and add any new times. Currently, the page will include all the time slots from today and some number of days after. Currently, to sign up, you can sign up either the day of or the day before you want to come in.

Also, the form updates dynamically so when someone submits a response to the form, their time slots will automatically be removed from the possible options.

Cancelling a Reservation

Once you create your reservation, you will not be able to change it. If anything comes up and you have to change your time or can't go anymore, please update us at SandboxUMD@gmail.com. Once we receive your cancellation, we will be able to remove your reservation to allow someone else to choose that time.
