Description
The Jigsaw is a versatile tool that allows you to cut complex shapes out of large materials. Ideal for situations where you need to make a large intricate shape or circle. A host of available blades allow it to be used on a variety of materials, from wood and metal to even plastic sheets.
Training
Training is required to use this tool. The training module for this tool can be found here.
Tips & Tricks
- It's always a good idea to clearly mark your cut lines on your workpiece or on a template you glue to your workpiece.
- When cutting a complex shape, be sure to plan and cut a sufficient number of relief cuts to keep the blade from binding.
- Watch out when cutting curves with tight corners or angles. Pushing in the saw at a tight angle can cause the blade to bind, twist or snap, all of which can lead to injuries.
Manuals
A pdf copy of the manual can be viewed on the sandbox shared drive here.
Consumables
- Blades – The primary consumable for this tool are blades. Be sure to use an appropriate blade according to whatever material you plan to cut. If you are unsure about how to replace a blade or which one is appropriate for the material you will be cutting, ask for assistance.
