Mathematica is freely available to all University-owned machines. On our UMIACS-supported Linux hosts, Mathematica is already available in the following locations:

*RHEL5: /opt/stow/mathematica10/bin/mathematica
*RHEL6/RHEL7/Ubuntu: /opt/common/mathematica10/bin/mathematica

For UMIACS-supported Windows machines, or other self-supported University-owned equipment, please contact [[HelpDesk | staff]].

==Activation==
There is no automated way to activate Mathematica across our domain. As a result, each computer will have to be registered once against our hosted license server. Any user can go through this process, and it should persist until the host is reinstalled.

UMIACS has deployed a system with 3 Barracuda Networks spam firewalls. This allows for enterprise level Virus and Spam scoring and filtering for our email architecture.

===Mail Flow Through Barracudas===
*Currently users that receive mail at Exchange or our new IMAP service will be serviced by the Barracudas.

*The first time your mail flows through one of the Barracudas it will send you a mail with a new username and password. Subsequently you will receive every day (unless you configure otherwise) a mail at approx. 3:30 EST from the Barracuda with your quarantine summary.

===Quarantine===
*Mail that has been deemed as spam will be kept on the Barracudas in quarantine. It will not be delivered to your mailbox unless you configure the Barracudas to do so.

For example if your filter is "subject" and you select "contains" and search for "lottery" this will be the result.
