The Automounter that is utilized in UMIACS is autofs. Almost all file systems are mounted with NFS. You can utilize the automounter by just changing directory into the target or into a directory underneath the target. Many of our file systems are mounted this way, the most common being:
- /nfshomes
- Lab-specific network scratch directories: /cmlscratch, /gammascratch, /vulcanscratch
- All immediate subdirectories of /fs
