==OpenLAB Upgrade==
Our OpenLAB facilities are being upgraded.
 
Phase 1 has been completed, please use openlab.umiacs.umd.edu for all your remote login needs.
 
Phase 2 has been completed.
 
Phase 3 will be performed on Monday March 9th 2009. All home directories ( [[NFShomes]) will be unavailable for 3 hours from 10pm-1am.  Please see [[OpenLABUpgrade]] for more information.
 
==Internet Service Downtime Thursday 26th 5am to 6am - New VPN Service==
External network access will be interrupted to UMIACS networks on Thursday, February 26th during the hour of 5am to 6am.  The interruptions will take the form of several 5-10 minute outages over the hour.  Internal connectivity, such as traffic between clusters, desktops, and their respective fileservers, should not be affected with the *exception* of desktops in the BSB Building #296.
 
UMIACS will also be getting a new VPN service, which will not result in outages to the service.  The VPN server will remain known as
 
* umiacs-vpn.pc.umiacs.umd.edu
