UMIACS has 2 types of mailing lists, simple ones in LDAP (also known as mailaliases) and Mailman mailing lists. Please contact the HelpDesk if you would like either of these types of mailing lists created.
Mailaliases
These are simple Email redirects that allow for <listnamehere>@umiacs.umd.edu to be forwarded to a set list of email addresses. This is ideal for situations where you have a set number of addresses in mind (i.e. no membership changes) and do not need to do any other moderation on the list.
