Kernel and Performance
- Based on Linux 3.10.0-957 kernel.
- Initial process is changed to systemd.
- Includes Security-Enhanced Linux.
Virtualization
Users can run virtual machines within RHEL 7 using its built-in Kernel-based Virtual Machine, or KVM. UMIACS also supports the use of Singularity, a container application that is a more secure alternative to Docker.
