The following instructions will allow you to setup a rule on your Outlook client to filter mail that has been tagged as spam from the [[BarracudaSpamFirewall|UMIACS barracudas]].  The rule acts on “X-Barracuda-Spam-Status: Yes” within the message header.

1. Start by Click on “Rules and Alerts…” under the “Tools”  menu option

2. Click on the “New Rule…” button

3. Make sure that the “Check messages when they arrive” is selected then click next

4. Select the check box for “with specific words in message header” then click on the on the highlighted blue “specific word” text within the box label “Step 2: Edit…”

5. Type in “X-Barracuda-Spam-Status: Yes” and click on add

Then click the OK button once the “X-Barracuda-Spam-Status: Yes” phrase is added to the search list.

6. Now click next so that you can specify where you would like the junk mail to go. Select the check box “move it to the specified folder.” You can now click on the underlined blue text in the “Step 2” box which is labeled “specified”

7. Select the “Junk E-mail” folder then click Ok

8. Once you have finish the last step you can check it against the screenshot below to make sure you followed the steps correctly, if so click the Finish button.

9. Make sure that the “Turn on this rule” is check and now you can click finish to activate the rule

10. Click okay to continue to use Outlook.
