Druva/Folders
Druva can automatically back up files located within specified folders. The UMIACS distribution of Druva for the default profile already specifies certain folders on Windows and Mac for backup but you can manually configure additional folders to be backed up as well.

Add Folders to Backup
Some folders are already chosen for backup for the default profile and you will not need to manually select these. These folder are differentiated by the "Configured by Admin" tag seen next to the folder name. However, you can easily choose additional folders to be backed up from within the inSync client. Please refer to the instructions for your specific operating system.

Backup Profiles
We have two available profile types to choose from: Default and Power User. Both profiles have a hard quota of 250GB. If you reach this quota, additional files will not be backed up.
The Default Druva profile automatically chooses certain folders on Windows and Mac OS for backup, but for users who wish to specifically choose which folders are backed up or exclude certain folders, there is a Power User profile. Most users will start off in the Default profile and will need to contact the UMIACS Help Desk to be switched to the Power User profile as there is no way to choose this from the Druva client.
Default Profile
- Default requires the following folders to be backed up:
- Windows: My Documents, Desktop, System and App Settings, Favorites, Pictures, Office Templates
- macOS: Documents, Desktop, Favorites, Pictures
Power User Profile
- Power User requires no folders to be backed up, with the one exception of System and App Settings on Windows only. All customization is left to the user.
