Jira is a request and bug tracker that UMIACS uses to provide our HelpDesk functionality to our users.

It is a web based ticketing system that allows interactions of tickets though the web and email. It allows users a better way to interact with Staff and more control over their tickets.

Accounts are created the first time the system receives a email from a user. Your username is always your email address.

  • UMIACS users can use their UMIACS email address (username@umiacs.umd.edu) and UMIACS Kerberos password to authenticate
  • Off site users use their email address and can request a password be emailed to them via this link.
