===Help Desk Closed for Spring Break===
The UMIACS Help Desk in 3142 will be closed for spring break. It will reopen on Monday March 28th at 9:00 AM.
 
===New UNIX Print System===
We are pleased to announce the immediately available [[CUPS]] print system for our UNIX (rhel/ubuntu) users.  Please contact staff@umiacs.umd.edu with any issues.
 
===Subversion Upgrade Thursday March 17th 2011 10-11pm===

Our current subversion server is running 1.4.x version of subversion that needs to be patched because of a denial of service bug.  However, the subversion developers and Red Hat have decided to not back port a fix but have re-based to 1.6.x.  Repositories on subversion.umiacs.umd.edu will be unavailable to check out or update between 10-11pm on March 17th 2011.
 
What this means is that in addition to the server being upgraded we will be upgrading all the client subversion software on our supported RHEL/Ubuntu machines to the same version.
 
We would like to encourage users to check in their working copies of any subversion repository hosted on subversion.umiacs.umd.edu by 9pm on March 17th.  This will ensure that if there are any issues you can just re-check out your repository with the newer client.  We do not expect any incompatabilies though.
