===UMIACS Data Center Outage Sunday January 23rd 2011 8am-5pm===
When: '''Sunday January 23rd 2011 8am-5pm'''
UMIACS needs to take the final downtime in the project to upgrade the
south side AV Williams Bldg UPS.  This will require our main data center
to be shut down for approximately 8 hours.  During this time no UMIACS
services will be available including email (exchange or imap), web
services, networked file systems and remote access.  Additionally
workstations throughout AVW will be unavailable since they require file
systems and services that are hosted in our data center.
We are working to provide support for email queuing during the outage so
we will not bounce or warn any users of delivery.  This will not provide
any support to read or send email.  We will send a update on this by
Monday January 17th 2011 if we will be implementing it.

UMIACS Data Center Outage Sunday January 23rd 2011 8am-5pm

When: Sunday January 23rd 2011 8am-5pm

UMIACS needs to take the final downtime in the project to upgrade the south side AV Williams Bldg UPS. This will require our main data center to be shut down for approximately 8 hours. During this time no UMIACS services will be available including email (exchange or imap), web services, networked file systems and remote access. Additionally workstations throughout AVW will be unavailable since they require file systems and services that are hosted in our data center.

We are working to provide support for email queuing during the outage so we will not bounce or warn any users of delivery. This will not provide any support to read or send email. We will send a update on this by Monday January 17th 2011 if we will be implementing it.

Comcast DNS Issues

We are currently experiencing issues with Comcast home internet in PG county not correctly handling DNS resolution for UMIACS hostnames, that can seem to be affecting connectivity to UMIACS. Please see PublicDNS for more information.
