Due to the massive campus congestion expected this Friday, the UMIACS HelpDesk will be closed and much of UMIACS staff will be working remotely. We will have a skeleton staff on-site to address any physical issues that might arise, and will continue to actively monitor and respond to JIRA tickets and voicemail. If you have any issues, please send mail to staff@umiacs.umd.edu and we'll work to address the issue promptly.

Java

Due to the frequency and severity of recent Java vulnerabilities, it is strongly advised that Java be disabled in all browsers on your workstations. If you do require Java, it is recommended to maintain a second, separate browser, solely for the instances which require Java. For instructions on disabling Java on your workstation, please see the following: How to disable Java

Additional information on the current Java Vulnerability (as of 1/13/2013) can be found here: http://www.us-cert.gov/cas/techalerts/TA13-010A.html
