Network down time for A.V. Williams 31XX Thursday April 30th 5am

We will be finishing a network equipment upgrade this Thursday, April 30th beginning at 5am for the 3100 wing of the A.V Williams Building. These upgrades will provide gigabit ethernet access for all ports that have not already been upgraded in UMIACS offices and labs numbered 31XX. The downtime is expected to last no more than 20 minutes, most workstations will only see a few short blips in service.

The UMIACS help desk in avw 3142 will be opening earlier at 8:00am to accommodate any users with problems, we will be monitoring all supported workstations and desktops for problems associated with losing their connectivity. Thank you for your patience through this outage

New OpenLAB Desktop

We have added a new mac, Koala, to the desktops available in AVW 4462. Koala is replacing our old OpenLAB mac, Grizzly, and runs Mac OS X 10.5.
