NFShomes

/nfshomes

Automounted NFS file system that houses users OpenLAB home directories.

Found on supported OSSupport#UNIX and OSupport#MacOSX systems as

 /nfshomes/username

Please note that since NFS is insecure the scope is limited to which machines can mount this file system. If you need additional access you can mount this file system using CIFS from many operating systems (including Windows) by accessing it as,

  \\umiacsfs02.umiacs.umd.edu\nfshomes\username

This file system has regular backups with our TSM service and has Snapshots for easy user restores.
