Before requesting a UMIACS account, any new prospective UMIACS account holder needs to have a UMD directory ID. This is to allow them to connect to UMD's GlobalProtect VPN, both to access our account request form itself, and for being delegated access to our networked resources after their account install is completed.
Existing UMD students, staff, and faculty should already have a directory ID. For external collaborators, at other institutions or otherwise, the quickest way to get someone a directory ID is to request a Basic Affiliate appointment for them. This can be done by filling out this form and sending it to umiacs-payroll@umiacs.umd.edu.
