Before requesting a UMIACS account, any prospective UMIACS account holder needs to have a UMD directory ID (and associated passphrase). Their UMIACS account will also use their directory passphrase for authentication once installed.
- TERPmail accounts are separate from UMD accounts - these accounts exist in perpetuity after a student graduates from UMD, but these accounts are not sufficient for holding UMIACS accounts.
