A records
All machines start with naraXXXYY, where YY is two numbers and XXX is a use of one of the following:
- dev - development machines for testing, usually in 1139
- app - production machines
- www - web server
- app - production quality service (ie, srb, etc)
- wks - workstation
CNames
You should not use the A names (except dev) for anything permanent. You should ALWAYS create a cname to the real service that is running. This will allow easier migration of services later if needed. The following CNAMES are currently setup.
